What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll know how to use Sprout Social's built-in AI features to automatically surface performance patterns, generate plain-language trend summaries, and identify your top content — so your monthly reports take 20 minutes instead of 90.
What you'll need
What you should see: A Reports menu with multiple report type options and a date range selector at the top.
What you should see: A dashboard with reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance metrics for the selected period.
Scroll down within the Profile Performance report to the Insights section or look for a banner labeled Sprout AI or a purple/sparkle icon on the report page.
Sprout AI surfaces:
Click View Insights or the AI banner to expand the full insights panel.
Troubleshooting: If you don't see an Insights panel, your plan level may not include it. Check Settings → Subscription to see which AI features are included in your plan.
The AI insights typically show:
Read each insight carefully. These are the narrative points that used to take you an hour to derive manually.
Identify your top 5 posts for the period. Note:
This becomes your "What Worked" section in the client report.
What you should see: A client report that includes actual analytical insight (not just numbers) in a fraction of the normal time.
